A Round Trip to Childhood

If you had a free round-trip ticket to anywhere, where would you go?

Imagine someone handing you a ticket and saying, “Pack your bags. You can go anywhere in the world. Everything is paid for.”

My brain would probably short-circuit for a moment. Paris? Switzerland? Maldives?

Nope. Disney World, with my family!

Because if I had a free round-trip ticket to anywhere, I would choose a place where fairy tales come alive, castles stand proudly, and grown-ups are allowed to behave like five-year-olds without anyone questioning their maturity.

I would love to see my children’s faces light up as they meet their favourite characters, ride exciting attractions, and wander through a world where imagination has no expiry date. And honestly, I would be right there beside them, screaming on roller coasters, taking a million photographs, and pretending I wasn’t secretly more excited than the kids.

“Some journeys take you to places. Others take you back to the child you forgot you were.”

Of course, travelling with family comes with its own adventures. Someone will be hungry, someone will lose a souvenir, someone will insist on riding the same attraction seventeen times, and someone will ask, “Are we there yet?” while standing right in front of the destination.

But that is precisely what makes the journey special.

Years later, we might forget the names of the rides, the hotel room number, or how much we spent on Mickey-shaped snacks. But we will remember the laughter, the hugs, the excitement, and those precious moments when everyone was simply happy together.

Thought to ponder

If you could collect one souvenir from every journey, would you choose something you could hold in your hands—or a memory you could carry in your heart forever?
