Not Every Thought Needs a Microphone!

What’s a completely useless fact you love sharing?

Some questions make you think. Some make you smile. And then there are questions like today’s prompt that leave you wondering whether you have misunderstood the assignment!

What’s a completely useless fact I love sharing? Honestly, I had to pause and think. Not because my mind was empty, but because I couldn’t think of anything I would deliberately classify as useless just for the sake of sharing it.

I don’t think I have a collection of random, unnecessary facts waiting for their grand entrance into a conversation. I generally share things that are needed, thoughts that mean something, experiences that might help someone, or words that deserve to be heard. I am not particularly interested in adding more clutter to an already overcrowded world of information.

I believe words are like little parcels. Some carry knowledge, some carry kindness, some bring laughter, and some leave us thinking long after the conversation ends. Why send an empty parcel when you can send something meaningful?

Of course, I am not suggesting that every conversation should resemble a philosophy lecture. Imagine meeting a friend for coffee and announcing, “Let us discuss the purpose of human existence!” They might quietly reconsider the invitation. Sometimes, a silly joke, a random observation or a completely unnecessary conversation is exactly what makes an ordinary day memorable.

Personally, I enjoy sharing beautiful lines from books, lessons hidden in everyday incidents, interesting observations and thoughts that have been wandering around in my head all day.

As I see it, “Not everything we know needs to be shared, and not everything we share needs to be important. But it should feel worthwhile.”

Perhaps I don’t have a favourite useless fact. Maybe my favourite thing to share is a useful thought disguised as an ordinary conversation!

And if I ever discover a completely useless fact worth sharing, I promise to share it. After all, even serious minds deserve an occasional holiday!

A Thought to Ponder

In a world overflowing with information, wouldn’t it be wonderful if we became more thoughtful about what we choose to share, rather than simply trying to have something to say?
