Giggles Are Lighter Than Grudges

Are you holding a grudge? About?

Some people collect stamps, some collect fridge magnets, and some—believe it or not—collect grudges. They polish them, preserve them, and display them proudly in the museum of their minds. Me? I never bothered to buy a ticket to that exhibition.

“Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.” We’ve all heard it, but somehow many still sip that toxic cup like it’s their morning coffee. Personally, I prefer my coffee hot, strong, and free of bitterness that lingers beyond the mug.

Life is far too short to waste time rehearsing revenge speeches in the shower or giving free real estate in our heads to someone who annoyed us three years ago at a wedding. “Forgive, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace.” That line isn’t just wisdom—it’s a survival hack for sanity.

Sure, forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting. It simply means choosing not to carry emotional baggage heavier than your checked-in luggage at the airport. Besides, bags get lost, grudges don’t.

And if you’re ever tempted to hold a grudge, remember this: the person you’re mad at might be peacefully snoring while you’re wide awake plotting their downfall. Unfair deal, right?

So I choose lightness. I choose laughter. I choose to let things go before they turn me into a full-time grudge gardener.

🌱 Thought to ponder: If your hands are busy holding grudges, how will you ever hold happiness?
