Hearts in Transit, Souls in Sync

If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?

If I ever win two free plane tickets, I’d do what any sane dreamer would—look up, whisper “Thank You, God,” and then flip a coin. Heads: Switzerland. Tails: Switzerland. Because let’s be honest, who needs choices when your heart’s already yodeling in the Alps?

Blame it on Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. That iconic mustard field scene, the romantic train chases, Raj’s charm, Simran’s grace—DDLJ didn’t just give us a love story, it gave us a destination. “Bade bade deshon mein aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain…”—and in my case, it starts with two free tickets and a suitcase full of dreams.

I’d grab my husband, because solo travel is great, but laughing over mispronounced French menus and misadventures in snow gear is better when shared. We’d land somewhere picturesque, where cows wear bells, trains hum through valleys, and we try (and fail) to re-enact Bollywood poses without slipping on snow.

“I travel not to escape life, but so life doesn’t escape me,” said someone wise—or maybe it was a fridge magnet. Either way, it sticks.

We’d dance in the meadows like Raj and Simran, sip hot chocolate in hidden cafés, and click photos that say “we made it!” even if our socks are wet and GPS lost us again.

Thought to ponder:
Sometimes, it’s not the place that changes your life—it’s the journey, the company, and the courage to believe in movie-like magic in your very real story.
