Retirement: Where Alarm Clocks Go to Die and Cake Becomes Breakfast

How do you want to retire?

Retirement. Ah yes—the grand finale of the 9-to-5 symphony, when meetings become memories and deadlines are just for baking. For some, it’s a yacht. For others, it’s yoga. For me? It’s a world where **”Wake up time” is a myth, and “What should I do today?” is answered with “Whatever I want, thank you very much.”

Gone are the days of calendar reminders and ironing clothes that no one really noticed. I plan to retire like a rebel—with messy hair, mismatched socks, and a spoonful of Nutella before breakfast. Because why not?

“A good retirement plan is not just about saving money—it’s about saving joy for later.” And oh, I have joy packed like pickle jars in a grandma’s kitchen.

I want to live slowly—sip tea without checking emails in between sips. Laugh at my own jokes. Grow tomatoes. Watch the sunset without wondering if I left the stove on. Dance to old songs in my living room. Maybe even take salsa lessons (or just eat salsa with chips).

Family around, laughter echoing through lazy afternoons, and every meal feels like Sunday brunch. That, to me, is retirement.

As someone wise once said, “The best part of retirement is never having to ask for permission to nap.”

Thought to ponder:
If retirement is the dessert of life, why rush through the main course stressed and bitter? Slow down, season well, and save space for something sweet. 🍰
