Not Branded, Just Blissed and Zouk’d

What are your favorite brands and why?

“I’m not into brands,” I say, while wearing my Blissclub pants and swinging my Zouk bag like it’s a runway. Irony, my old friend, you always know how to crash a perfectly grounded personality.

See, I don’t chase logos. I chase logic. If it fits, it sits (in my wardrobe). I shop not for wants but for needs—unless I’m temporarily hypnotized by a limited-time offer and a convincing review video with someone saying, “This changed my life!” (It rarely does. Unless it’s pizza.)

Blissclub pants? They hug me better than my emotional support pillow. Functional, flattering, and don’t scream “Hey! I’m expensive!”—which is exactly my aesthetic. And Zouk bags? Vegan, stylish, and Indian-made. It’s like carrying culture on your shoulder, minus the baggage.

“I buy not to impress others, but to express myself,” said no advertisement ever. But hey, it should.

I’m that shopper who reads reviews, checks stitching, zips the zip five times, and then asks myself: “Do you really need this?” Often, the answer is no. Sometimes, it’s “Okay, but only if it has pockets.” If it’s got pockets and is on sale? That’s a spiritual experience.

Still, I admire people who buy Gucci as casually as I buy groceries. We live in a world where someone’s slippers cost more than my rent. But I’m okay. I’ve mastered the art of contentment—while looking stylish, comfortably.

So, while I don’t chase brands, once in a while, a brand aligns with my comfort and character. That’s when it makes the cut.

“Buy what suits your soul, not just your selfie.”

Thought to ponder:
Is it really a want, or have you just been influenced to think it is?
