Stop Measuring Me – I’m Not a Recipe

What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.

There are many questions I dislike, but the top spot goes to anything related to weight. It’s as if my body is a topic for open debate, and people just can’t resist asking:

“How much weight did you lose?”
“Are you working out?”
“You should be more worried about your weight!”

Ah, the never-ending saga of unsolicited weight-related questions! If I had a rupee for every time someone asked me about my weight, I could probably afford a lifetime supply of my favorite desserts—ironic, isn’t it?

There’s something about weight that fascinates people more than breaking news. It’s as if my body is public property, open for discussion, analysis, and even free advice. While I understand that some ask out of concern, most just seem to have a PhD in ‘How to Mind Other People’s Business.’

“Your weight is none of their weighty concerns!”

I often wonder why people think they have the right to comment on my body. Do they think I woke up one day, looked in the mirror, and gasped, “Oh no! I forgot to check my weight!” Trust me, I know exactly what’s happening with my body—every extra bite, every skipped workout, every little change. And no, I don’t need a walking-talking weight tracker reminding me.

The funniest part? The same people who ask about weight also passionately believe, “What matters is inner beauty!” Oh, the irony!

A little piece of advice? Before you comment on someone’s weight, pause and ask yourself: Is this really necessary? If it’s not, zip it.

Thought to Ponder: “Wouldn’t the world be lighter if we carried fewer judgments?”

What’s your take? Have you ever been on the receiving end of these weighty interrogations?
