Déjà Vu or Just Another Monday?

What bores you?

Life is a beautiful melody, but sometimes, it gets stuck on repeat. The same routine, the same tasks, the same conversations—monotony creeps in like an uninvited guest. While some find comfort in predictability, for others, it’s the slow death of excitement. As Mark Twain wisely said, “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.” But what if every start feels like déjà vu?

Monotonous activities feel like watching a snail cross the road—painfully slow, utterly predictable, and devoid of thrill. Imagine waking up, making the same breakfast, commuting the same way, sitting in the same chair, responding to the same emails, only to repeat it all the next day. Where’s the adventure? Where’s the spark? Even robots must envy our endurance!

Mechanical life strips away the surprise element, turning days into a scripted play where we know every dialogue in advance. And let’s be honest—predictability is only exciting when it’s about getting the last piece of cake! As Albert Einstein humorously noted, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

The cure? Sprinkle spontaneity into the mundane. Take a different route, learn a quirky skill, laugh at an unexpected joke, or dance while making tea. Life isn’t meant to be a factory assembly line—it’s an art gallery of surprises.

Thought to ponder: If life were a book, would yours be a page-turner or a never-ending instruction manual?

  1. Good day! The movie “Wanted” along with the song lyrics from NIN “everyday is exactly the same” attempted to play around in my noodle. I 100% agree with getting outside the norm or dance while making a cup of tea! YES! Love it!
