Wrapped in Nostalgia, Sealed with Love

What’s your favorite candy?

“Candy is childhood, the best and bright moments you wish could have lasted forever.” – Dylan Lauren

Who can resist candies? They are tiny bundles of joy wrapped in nostalgia. If you ask me about my favorite candy, I’d say—it’s complicated. Like picking a favorite child, how does one choose?

There’s Alpenliebe, disappearing faster than my weekend. Mango Bites, bursting with the tangy essence of childhood. Caramel toffees, holding onto my teeth as if they pay rent. These sweets are not just flavors; they are time machines to school lunch breaks, sneaky pocket treasures, and sibling wars over the last piece.

But times change, and so do favorites. These days, I find myself reaching for something a little different—homemade amla candies from my friend’s kitchen. Sweet, tangy, and packed with goodness, they come with a bonus ingredient: friendship. Love, after all, is the best sweetener.

“Happiness is homemade,” they say, and these little delights prove it. While store-bought candies bring joy, nothing beats a treat made with warmth and care. Plus, who knew being healthy could taste this good?

Thought to ponder: If life gives you candies, enjoy them. But if it gives you amla candies made by a friend, cherish them—because some sweets are savored with the heart, not just the tongue.

  1. I never thought I’d read such a passionate post in favour of candy and sweets and yet I find it makes total sense. Totally agree and I wish I could like this post more than once!
