Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?
As a kid, my world was filled with the joy of toys. Dolls, cars, and cuddly animals formed the core of my childhood treasures. They werenāt just objects; they were my companions, confidants, and the stars of my imaginary adventures. “A toy is a memory made tangible,” someone once said, and how true it was. These were more than just playthings; they were pieces of my soul molded into plastic and fabric.
As I grew, my affection took a literary turn. Novels became my new treasures, each one a portal to a different world. I was that youth who found solace in the crisp fragrance of a freshly opened book, a scent so magical that it felt like a warm hug on a cold day. āA room without books is like a body without a soul,ā goes the saying, and my room, stacked with books, was full of soul indeed.
I cherished these books, tending to their spines and pages like a gardener cares for roses. But as time passed, my collection dispersed. Some still rest in my old cupboard, the silent keepers of my youthful dreams. Many others found new homes, passed on to eager hands, carrying stories to fresh minds.
Thought to Ponder: Is it the toys and books we grow attached to, or the moments they encapsulate, the dreams they ignite, and the lessons they teach?
In toys, I found my world anew,
In books, I saw beyond the blue.
Memories held in each worn page,
Youthful whispers defying age.
