What relationships have a positive impact on you?
Relationships are the lifeblood of our existence, weaving together the tapestry of our lives with love, trust, and shared moments. They ground us, lift us, and sometimes even hilariously frustrate us, but at the core, they define who we are.
As a daughter and granddaughter, I’ve learned the values of love, respect, and resilience. The bonds with my elders have been a wellspring of wisdom—often peppered with gentle scoldings for my late-night scrolling habits. “A grandmother’s love is God’s blessing in disguise,” they say, and I wholeheartedly agree, especially when it comes with a plate of homemade sweets!
As a wife, I cherish the friendship my husband and I share. He is my sounding board, partner in crime. “Marriage is not about finding the perfect person but loving the imperfect person perfectly.”
Yet, nothing compares to being a mother. My children have taught me patience (or at least tested its limits) and reminded me of the sheer joy found in innocence. Their questions—ranging from “Why is the sky blue?” to “Can dogs understand us?”—push me to think, laugh, and sometimes hide under a pillow.
Then there’s friendship—the quiet anchor in my stormy seas. A good friend listens, but a great friend knows exactly when to laugh at your problems and when to bring ice cream.
Through all these roles, the relationships with my kids and friends stand out as life’s most positive influences. They fuel my laughter, growth, and hope.
“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count; it’s the life in your years.”
Thought to ponder: Are we investing enough love, time, and laughter into the relationships that matter most? After all, life is short—make it beautiful with the people who truly matter.
