When are you most happy?
Happiness is a dish best served on a plate! Among the myriad things that bring me joy, good, delicious food tops the list. Whether it’s the aroma of a freshly baked cake or the spicy tang of street-side chaat, food has this magical ability to turn my frown into a satisfying smile.
Once upon a time, I could confidently label myself a stress eater. A bad day? Bring on the biryani! A tough meeting? Pass the pasta! Food was my therapist, and it never interrupted me. As Julia Child rightly said, “People who love to eat are always the best people.” I must have been the best version of myself back then, with a plate always in hand!
However, with time (and a fluctuating weighing scale), I realized the need for a more mindful approach. Now, I take conscious decisions about what I eat, fully aware of the impact on my health. Yet, food still remains my ultimate joy. The first bite of a perfect dish is like a warm hug after a cold day. And let’s face it, “A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand.”
Though my relationship with food has evolved, my love for it hasn’t diminished. So, here’s a thought to ponder: If something as simple as a slice of pizza can bring immense happiness, are we overcomplicating the recipe for a joyful life? After all, life is what you bake it, so add a little sweetness and savor every bite!
