Who are your current most favorite people?
In the grand theater of life, we meet countless people—some fleeting like whispers in the wind, others anchoring us like rocks in a storm. Each one leaves a mark, a lesson, or a memory etched in the sands of time. I am blessed, truly, for the incredible people who surround me.
They say, “Family is not an important thing, it’s everything.” For me, this couldn’t be truer. My family is my backbone, the sturdy pillar holding me up when I falter, and the gentle hand pushing me forward when I hesitate.
Then there are my friends—the glittering gems in the treasure chest of my life. From school corridors to workplace cubicles, from apartment complexes to foreign shores, each friend has played a unique role in shaping me.
1. The College Companion
Our bond has survived the tests of time and trials of life. Despite a few who tried to sow seeds of discord, we remained unshaken, proof that “true friendship isn’t about being inseparable; it’s being separated and nothing changes.” She stood by me like a rock, and during my wedding, she went above and beyond, doing things I’ll never forget.
2. The Office Angel
At work, I found more than a colleague—I found an angel in disguise. Her selfless support and guidance have left me indebted for life. As the saying goes, “A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself.” She gave me that and more.
3. The Overseas Bestie
Working abroad was daunting, but I found a friend who soon became family. It feels as though we’ve known each other since childhood. She was there when I needed someone the most, a living reminder that “some souls just understand each other upon meeting.”
4. The Teacher-Turned-Bestie
They say teachers are our guides, but sometimes they also become our companions for life. One such gem was my college librarian. What began as formal conversations in the quiet sanctity of the library transformed into an unbreakable bond. Today, she is my best buddy, the one person with whom I can pour my heart out without filters. With her, there’s no judgment, only understanding and warmth. She reminds me that “a true friend accepts your past, supports your present, and encourages your future.”
5. The Hometown Gem
When I returned to my hometown, loneliness crept in. My friends were scattered, and digital connections felt hollow. I hoped, prayed, and—voilà!—I met a wonderful friend who brought warmth, laughter, and relaxation back into my days. “Friends are the family we choose for ourselves,” and she has become just that.
Life with friends is never boring. They are the ones who laugh at our bad jokes, eat our burnt cooking, and listen to the same story a hundred times as if it’s new. (Bless their patience!)
In the tapestry of my fleeting years,
Are woven threads of laughter and tears.
Some are bright, some a little frayed,
But each one a memory, lovingly made.
To my family, my unyielding spine,
Your love and strength make life divine.
To friends, my diamonds in the rough,
With you, life’s trials seem less tough.
To the teacher who became my guide and friend,
With unfiltered talks that never end.
You showed me warmth, patience, and care,
A rare friendship, beyond compare.
Near or far, you’re etched in my heart,
Each one a masterpiece, a work of art.
No force can sever these bonds we hold,
For you are my threads of shimmering gold.
As I reflect on these incredible relationships, one thought stands tall: “It’s not the number of people around you but the depth of the connections that matter most.”
To everyone who has touched my life—thank you. You’re the reason I smile a little brighter, laugh a little louder, and live a little fuller. Here’s to the beauty of human connections, and may we continue weaving golden threads together!
