Beach Bliss vs. Mountain Miss

Beach or mountains? Which do you prefer? Why?

Nestled amidst lush green forests, my hometown whispers secrets of tranquility to all who care to listen. The rustling leaves, the chirping birds, and the sun peeking through the canopy make it a haven for those seeking peace. But while forests wrap me in their serene embrace, mountains—those towering giants—are a different story. Sure, they’re stunning from the base, like art etched against the sky, but climbing them? Let’s just say my cup of tea doesn’t come with altitude sickness. As the saying goes, “The best view comes after the hardest climb,” but I’m perfectly content admiring that view in someone else’s Instagram story.

Now beaches, ah, they’re my sanctuary. Sitting on golden sands, I watch the horizon blur as the sea kisses the sky. There’s a magic in the waves, their rhythm a gentle reminder of life’s ebb and flow. The laughter of children building sandcastles, the adrenaline of water sports, and the mesmerizing dance of the setting sun—it all makes me feel alive. As Isak Dinesen beautifully put it, “The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea.”

The sea whispers tales to the shore,
Waves cradle dreams we can’t ignore.
Sunsets paint skies in hues so grand,
Life feels infinite on golden sand.

Mountains may inspire, but beaches heal. And me? I’ll take sandy toes over sore calves any day.

By the sea, I find the pieces of me that I never knew were missing.
