What TV shows did you watch as a kid?
When I think of my childhood, the memories aren’t of TV shows at first, because—till grade 5—we didn’t even have a television at home. But once the big box arrived, it was as if another world opened. DD9 was my window to entertainment, and I remember watching almost every serial that aired. My heart, however, belonged to Shakalaka Bhoom Bhoom. Oh, the thrill of Sanju’s magic pencil! I would sit there, wide-eyed, imagining, “If only I had that pencil… I’d draw endless chocolates and maybe even write tomorrow’s homework.”
Another superhero of my school days was Shaktimaan. Sundays meant no distractions—it was me, glued to the TV, waiting for India’s own superhero to save the day. And yes, like every kid, I too thought if I spun fast enough, maybe I could transform!
By the time I reached my 20s, life took a funny twist. I found myself and my hubby watching cartoons—yes, you read that right. Doremon, Ninja Hathodi, Shinchan—we binge-watched them like some people watch thrillers. The laughter was endless, and it felt like revisiting childhood, but with a partner-in-crime.
Now, with kids around, my house is basically a live cartoon marathon. From morning giggles to bedtime tantrums, my life is filled with animated voices and silly plots. And honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
As they say, “Television is not just about shows, it’s about the memories they create in the corners of your heart.”

Thought to Ponder:
What if the magic pencil was never about drawing things, but about reminding us that imagination is the greatest tool we already carry?
