Tell us about the last thing you got excited about.
Excitement doesn’t always need fireworks, grand parties, or lottery wins. Sometimes, it hides in the smallest corners of life—like a peaceful Friday, when the kids finish their periodic assessment and I can finally sip my tea without mentally solving math problems along with them.
“Ohhh, I get excited for small small reasons,” I often say. And it’s true. The thrill of knowing tomorrow is Saturday and I can nap just ten minutes longer feels as good as winning a holiday ticket to Paris—well, almost.
We live in a world where excitement is often measured by how Instagram-worthy the moment is. But real joy? It’s in the everyday. Like when you find an extra piece of chocolate in the fridge you swore you finished yesterday. Or when your child says, “Done with homework” without you having to wage a war. That’s the kind of happiness that keeps life sparkling.
As Albert Einstein once said, “There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle, or you can live as if everything is a miracle.” I choose the latter. Because when you train your heart to celebrate the little things, even the dullest days wear a crown of cheer.
And yes, every Friday brings its own mini festival. The sheer luxury of not setting the alarm clock too early is underrated bliss. A weekend nap is not laziness—it’s my victory parade in pajamas.
“Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions,” wrote the Dalai Lama. My action? Choosing to be excited over the tiniest wins.
🌸 Thought to ponder: If small joys can make our hearts dance, imagine what life would feel like if we collected them every day like treasures.
