Youth Was Loud, Age is Lyrics

What do you think gets better with age?

They say age is just a number — but if that number comes with back pain and reading glasses, is it really just a number? Yet, oddly enough, while our bones might creak and our metabolism taps out early, some things surprisingly do get better with age — and no, I’m not just talking about cheese and wisdom.

Behaviour becomes less about “reacting” and more about “responding.” You no longer slam doors; you gently close them with a calm monologue in your head.

Attitude towards life becomes less of a panic and more of a poetic pause. What once felt like the end of the world now feels like… a detour to a better ice cream shop.

Patience blooms beautifully. You stop refreshing the delivery app every 30 seconds and instead enjoy the wait — maybe even water a plant or two.

Perspective shifts. You zoom out. Life isn’t a race, it’s a scenic train ride with messy views and surprise snacks.

And here’s the golden upgrade: you master the art of ignoring unnecessary things. Gossip, arguments, rude stares — all get filtered through the glorious sieve of “Not my circus, not my monkeys.”
As intelligent minds say: “The ability to ignore nonsense is the peak of emotional evolution.”

As Oscar Wilde cheekily said, “With age comes wisdom, but sometimes age comes alone.” Well, lucky are the ones who collect both.

Aging peels off the impulsive layers and reveals the softer, sturdier core. You realise life isn’t a sprint or even a marathon — it’s more like a never-ending game of snakes and ladders with surprise tea breaks.

Thought to ponder:
If laughter lines are proof of a life well-lived, then shouldn’t we aim for faces that look like maps to joy?

So next time someone jokes about your grey hair, just smile and say, “This isn’t grey. It’s silver wisdom with a sparkle of sass.”
