What notable things happened today?
Today, the skies wept like a Bollywood heroine in the climax scene, and as the rain poured, so did the chaos inside my home.
School declared a holiday — not for any festive reason, but because the roads outside looked like reluctant rivers forming without Google Maps’ permission. And just like that, my office chair transformed into a high-traffic zone, my living room into an art gallery, and the kitchen into a 24/7 snack factory.
“Children are like weather – unpredictable, occasionally stormy, but always a reason to look outside and smile.” 🌦️
My eldest daughter, the Picasso-in-pajamas, painted something so beautiful that even the clouds outside seemed to pause and peek in through the window. She handed it to me proudly, her fingers more colourful than the paper. I smiled and told her it was a masterpiece. Honestly, it could’ve been a unicorn flying over a doughnut or a giraffe in a spacesuit — either way, it was fabulous.
Meanwhile, my son — lovingly nicknamed Chocopie, because he’s sweet and melts down often — was on a mission to conquer Mount Vocabulary. He was learning “Birthday,” “beautiful,” and “human being.” I felt proud until he asked me to spell “catastrophe.” I pretended to cough and walked away with the confidence of a spelling bee dropout.
“Behind every child who can spell hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia is a parent Googling it in the bathroom.” 😂
And then there was the littlest one — my miniature tornado in onesie format — chasing her siblings with the speed and determination of a puppy in a squirrel park. She wasn’t learning big words or painting galaxies, but she was the mood board of joy. Every giggle she let out was a soundtrack to this homebound chaos.
“Some days, the only thing you accomplish is keeping tiny humans alive and slightly entertained — and that’s enough.” 🧡
In puddles they danced, with dreams in their eyes,
Painting the world with their giggles and cries.
Books lay open, crayons flew wide,
As joy and noise walked side by side.
A storm may rage on the world outside,
But here, in this chaos, love is our guide.
Thought to Ponder:
“In the rhythm of raindrops and the mess of motherhood, you’ll find the music of memories being made.” 🎶💧
So next time it pours outside, may it also pour inside — with laughter, learning, and love (and maybe a little chocolate milk).
