Mission Multitask: My Everyday Blockbuster

How do you balance work and home life?

“Balance is not something you find, it’s something you create — usually while stepping over scattered crayons and charging cables.”

People often ask me, “How do you balance work and home life?”
And I smile politely — while mentally calculating whether I switched off the gas, sent that pending email, and remembered where I kept my phone (which is, ironically, in my hand).

Let me tell you this — balance is not a destination. It’s a daily dance I perform in invisible heels… sometimes with real bruises from stepping on LEGO.

Scene 1: My Mornings – A Symphony of Chaos

My mornings don’t begin with meditation or green juice.
They begin with: “Mamma! Can I get the phone for 5 minutes?”
My kids want attention.
The kitchen wants cleaning.
My boss wants punctuality.
And my inner voice? It wants sleep.

But I rise. Not like the sun… more like a groggy potato.
Still, I rise. And I conquer. (At least most days.)

“Behind every multitasking mom is a cold cup of coffee and a to-do list that giggles wickedly.”

Scene 2: Zoom Calls & Cabbage Sabzi

As soon as I open my laptop, I switch to “office mode.”
But let’s be real — I’m still on home duty.

I nod along in meetings while whisper-shouting, “Stop jumping on the bed!”
I discuss strategy while watching my toddler’s adorable antics that melt my frustration into laughter.
I review reports while slicing onions with tears in my eyes — from the onions, not the workload. (Usually.)

I am a part-time employee, full-time juggler, and forever mom.

“Multitasking: When you type with one hand, serve snacks with the other, and answer moral science questions using only your eyebrows.”

Scene 3: The Evening Tangle

Evenings are when the real circus begins.
Homework tantrums.
Dinner decisions.
Last-minute office calls.
And those philosophical bedtime questions like, “Mamma, why can’t we ride on rainbows?”

At times, I feel stretched thin — like pizza dough with too many toppings.
But then, out of nowhere, one of my kids wraps their arms around me and says, “Mamma, you’re the best.”
And just like that, I’m melted cheese — soft, gooey, and completely happy.

The Truth of My Balance

Balancing work and home isn’t a fairy tale in my world.
It’s a living, breathing, chaotic, colorful reality — full of mismatched socks, missed calls, minor breakdowns, major love, and tiny victories.

Some days, I feel like Wonder Woman.
Other days, I’m just wondering what day it is.

But every single day, I show up.
I slip. I fall. I forget the milk.
And then, I get up again.

Because…

“I may not be perfect, but I’m exactly what my family needs — tired eyes, tangled hair, overflowing heart and all.”

A Thought to Ponder:

What if true balance isn’t about achieving perfection… but about embracing presence?

Being fully in the moment — even if that moment includes spilled juice, unread emails, a sing-song recital, and a hundred kisses goodnight.

So, for those who ask how I do it — the truth is, I don’t always.
But I keep doing it anyway.

And that… is my version of balance.
