What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?
Some movies aren’t just films; they are emotions, time machines that transport us to a world of nostalgia, love, and laughter. While many watch a movie once and move on, some of us—true cinephiles—find comfort in revisiting them over and over again, like an old friend who never fails to entertain.
For me, that old friend is Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. I’ve watched it more times than I can count—actually, scratch that—I’ve watched it more than 40 times (yes, I proudly admit it). There’s something about Raj and Simran’s journey that never gets old. As they say in the movie, “Bade bade deshon mein aisi choti choti baatein hoti rehti hain, Senorita!”—and so does rewatching our favorite films!
Chak De! India never fails to pump up my spirit, while Hum Saath Saath Hain and Maine Pyar Kiya make me nostalgic for the golden era of Bollywood family dramas. And then, there’s Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein—Madhavan’s charm is simply irresistible!
Beyond Bollywood, my love for cinema extends to Kannada classics like Premaloka and Ranadheera, which defined an era of musical romance and action. In Telugu, the sheer charisma of Allu Arjun and the effortless charm of Mahesh Babu make their movies a treat to watch. Tamil cinema keeps me hooked with the versatility of Vijay, the intensity of Vikram, and the brilliance of Suriya. And thanks to my college days surrounded by Keralite friends, I was introduced to a treasure trove of Malayalam films—proof that great storytelling transcends language and borders.
“Movies touch our hearts, awaken our vision, and change the way we see things.” – Martin Scorsese.
And isn’t that why we keep returning to them? Maybe, just maybe, we don’t watch the same movie multiple times—we watch different versions of ourselves experiencing them.
Thought to Ponder: “Are we rewatching movies, or are we revisiting the emotions they once made us feel?”
