What is the biggest challenge you will face in the next six months?

The next six months are my version of an extreme sport—balancing work, kids’ exams, and holidays without having a mini-meltdown. March is the month of whispered prayers and last-minute revisions, where my role shifts from a working professional to a human encyclopedia. I find myself answering questions like “Why is the sky blue?” when my own brain feels like a black hole of exhaustion.
And then comes April-May—summer vacation! A time when my kids are bursting with energy while I am still trying to recover from exam stress. “Mom, I’m bored!” becomes the national anthem of my house. If I had a rupee for every time I heard it, I could fund a solo vacation to the Maldives. But alas, planning activities for my little tornadoes during my work hours becomes the real test of my patience.

So, this year, I vow to plan ahead. I will create schedules, stock up on activity books, and maybe even tra
in my kids to enjoy silent contemplation (wishful thinking, I know). Above all, I will remind myself that this too shall pass.
Thought to Ponder: Parenting is the only job where you look forward to retirement but know deep down you’ll miss the chaos when it’s gone.
