Through Time’s Lens: Hold Tight, It’s a Bumpy Ride

How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?

Time has a quirky sense of humor. One day, you’re a child dreaming of growing up, and the next, you’re an adult wishing for a nap. Life’s events, big and small, mold our perspective like a potter shaping clay—sometimes gently, sometimes with a firm, unexpected push.

When we’re young, success means an extra scoop of ice cream. In adulthood, it’s managing to drink coffee before it gets cold. “The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.” —Michael Altshuler. And oh, how time flies when you’re paying bills instead of collecting stickers!

Heartbreaks teach resilience, failures whisper lessons, and parenthood—well, that’s where patience meets its final exam. You start as a carefree person, then one day, you hear yourself say, “Because I said so,” and realize you’ve become your mother. Marriage, parenthood, loss, success—all these milestones rewrite our beliefs. The things we once feared—public speaking, exams, ghosts—seem trivial compared to explaining taxes or convincing a toddler to eat vegetables.

With time, we learn to pick our battles. Not every hill is worth dying on, especially the one about putting the toilet seat down. “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” —Vivian Greene.

A Thought to Ponder: What if life isn’t about reaching a destination but about collecting stories, moments, and laughter along the way? After all, the best views often come after the hardest climbs (even if we’d rather take the elevator).
