Tomorrow Called… It Said “Maybe Next Time

Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done.

Every night, I have a grand plan: Tomorrow, I will wake up early! The alarm rings, and before my brain even registers reality, my fingers are already on autopilot—searching for that glorious snooze button. And just like that, tomorrow’s “early start” rolls over to the next day… and the next.

“Procrastination is like a credit card: it’s a lot of fun until you get the bill.” — Christopher Parker

Then there’s the exercise plan. Each day, I solemnly promise myself, Tomorrow is the day! But mysteriously, “tomorrow” never quite arrives. It’s as if it takes a detour, gets lost in traffic, or perhaps just decides to skip my house entirely.

And of course, there’s the ultimate goal—wrapping up work early to spend more time with my kids. But time has its own mischievous ways. One email leads to another, one task snowballs into three, and before I know it, the kids have already moved on from Mama, come play with us! to Mama, can we have your phone?

“Lost time is never found again.” — Benjamin Franklin

Life’s to-do list will always keep growing. But maybe, just maybe, it’s time to push the really important things to the top. Because alarms can be snoozed, workouts can be skipped, but precious moments with loved ones? They’re not on repeat.

Thought to Ponder: If “tomorrow” never comes, will the things that truly matter ever get done?
