What podcasts are you listening to?
I never considered myself a podcast person; my heart lies with movies and comedy series. But there are a few podcasts that have managed to grab my attention and hold it tight. Dr. Pal’s podcast is one such treasure trove of information. Known for his famous line, “Your body is your temple; treat it like one,” Dr. Pal’s shows dive deep into diet, intermittent fasting, and the intricacies of how our body functions. Listening to him opened up a new world of health wisdom for me, helping me shape better habits.
Then there’s Bollywood royalty: Kareena Kapoor Khan’s What Women Want on Mirchi Plus. I mean, Bollywood runs through my veins, so of course, I had to listen. Kareena is like that friend who’s honest, relatable, and somehow makes every conversation sound like coffee talk. She brings up topics we care about but don’t always say out loud, and it’s comforting – a bit like gupshup with a glamorous twist.
Raj Shamani’s podcast brings a different kind of magic. His smart questions and unique takes keep me hooked, and recently, he did an episode on parenting mistakes that was a real eye-opener. “Perfection in parenting is a myth; what matters is presence,” he said, leaving me both inspired and slightly relieved – parenting, it turns out, is not a test you have to ace.
A Tulu podcast The Powerhouse Vines (Chilling With Chilimbi) that brings a blend of humor, creativity, and Tulu pride. It’s a delight to hear stories and jokes in my regional language, keeping me connected to my roots. The show’s unique way of presenting relatable Tulu humor makes it a treat for the ears. Every episode feels like a vibrant celebration of Tulu culture, reminding me of home no matter where I am.
Recently, I discovered the Carmel Cafe, a Konkani podcast that has quickly captured my attention. Although it’s a new addition to my podcast lineup, some episodes have been real eye-openers. The way it discusses topics with a blend of local flavor and insightful perspectives has made it a refreshing listen. I’m excited to see where this new podcast takes me, as it continues to deliver both wisdom and laughter in the rich Konkani language.
So, while I may not live for podcasts, these gems have earned a spot in my routine, balancing humor, wisdom, and a dash of Bollywood glam. After all, “Listening is not just about hearing; it’s about understanding and perceiving the world in a whole new way.” Who knew a few listens here and there would have me this hooked?
